The 2020 Medicare Open Enrollment season runs from October 15 through December 7. Don’t be lazy and just let your existing options renew. You may be able to reduce costs, improve your coverage, or both by making some changes. During open enrollment, you can:

  • Either enroll in, or change, your prescription drug coverage (Medicare Part D) or drop your Part D plan;
  • Change from Original Medicare (for hospitalization and basic health coverage) to a Medicare Advantage plan from a private insurer, or vice versa;
  • Switch Medicare Advantage plans.
